Here at SeaQuest Systems, we have a vast array of CNC and Manual machinery which includes; Horizontal & Vertical Lathes, Milling Machines, Horizontal Boring Machines & Key Slotting Machinery
Main Duties
- Preparing & Operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as turning and milling
- Understanding specifications of the required tasks and gaining the desired results by reading the relevant production drawings
- Translating instructions into computer commands to operate the various machinery withing the facility
- Recording the use of materials to the allocated job references
- Work with minimal supervision once work assignments are given and explained, and ask questions to obtain sufficient instruction
- Logging of various tests / checks carried out
- Keep simple records
Other Duties
- On occasion it may be required to visit customer sites
Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, turning et.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result be reading relevant drawings
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Ability to operate manual operated machinery
- Prepare and load raw materials onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to the specifications
- Set machines to complete full cycles to facilitate larger quantities of parts
- Supervise the machines while the execute the tasks, record and carry out any adjustments mage to produce a better result
- Inspect / Measure finished products and compare against the requirements
- Complete simple daily maintenance on the relevant machinery to ensure functionality, report any defects that require attention
- Ability to operate forklifts in a safe manner
- Ability to operate overhead gantry cranes
- Record own hours on jobs worked
Requirements
- Proven experience as CNC operator
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Good communication abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
- Successfully completed apprenticeship is required
- Ability to operate overhead gantry cranes as required

This is a full time position with normal work hours of 08.00 – 16.30, overtime opportunities are available when required
