Aberdeen fishing exhibition

The stand was very busy with a lot visitors from Shetlands, Peterhead, Holland and from home. We had great interest in the new 24" fish pump and took a number of orders for our new stainless swivel for the fish hose. We had to increase the swivel size now to 20". The range now is 8", 10,"12", 14", 16" 18" 20". It was good to meet with friends old and new and the craic was great.

General News

Fluid Controls were invited by the Pacific Andes Group to sort out some hydraulic problems aboard one their factory trawlers. The 80 ton winches were built in China's Guangdong Province. Bert Leslie being the only one with current Russian visa was nominated to go. He flew down to Busan South Korea and took a reefer up to Sea of Othosk, the sailing time was 10 days with 2 days aboard factory ship and 8 days back to Vladivostok in eastern Siberia. Repairs went well and He enjoyed the time sailing in the ice. The passage involved sailing through the straits between the north and the main island of Japan a couple of days after the terrible sunami in Japan.

Plans are afoot to build a new production and repair facility in Killybegs, more will be available at a later date.

SeaQuest Water Pump

New to the SeaQuest range is the SeaQuest 12” Submersible Water Pump. Designed using our now famous fish pump technology, the pump was designed with areas affected by heavy flooding in mind.
The pump is a small and compact design, to be used either in a permanent or portable position. Driving the pump is a Radial Piston Hydraulic Motor with more than enough power to meet the requirements of the pump. The inlet is guarded from any large unwanted objects from entering and possibly blocking the system.

Pumping can start at a depth of only 400mm and stops at approx. 50mm. Required to drive the Water Pump is a recommended oil flow of only 80 liters per minute with a pressure of 180 bar.

Testimonials

SeaQuest net sounding winches, fish pumps, and deck cranes have been used on several fishing vessels of our company. This equipment are used continuously during fishing operations and often used in heavy weather conditions and in this way proved their reliability. The winches requires little maintenance due to their simplicity and design. As owners, we are very pleased to have these equipment installed onboard. If any maintenance is required, it will be dealt with immediately, scheduled or unscheduled. When vessel is at open sea, the crew can be guided by SeaQuest in case of any breakdown, by means of telephone or email, to solve any deficiency or to find a suitable solution to avoid a major loss of production.

Today we had two sets of local contract workers come aboard to complete some welding jobs and pipe fitting for us. Both companies completed their tasks in a very safe and professional manor.
