General News

Fluid Controls were invited by the Pacific Andes Group to sort out some hydraulic problems aboard one their factory trawlers. The 80 ton winches were built in China's Guangdong Province. Bert Leslie being the only one with current Russian visa was nominated to go. He flew down to Busan South Korea and took a reefer up to Sea of Othosk, the sailing time was 10 days with 2 days aboard factory ship and 8 days back to Vladivostok in eastern Siberia. Repairs went well and He enjoyed the time sailing in the ice. The passage involved sailing through the straits between the north and the main island of Japan a couple of days after the terrible sunami in Japan.

Plans are afoot to build a new production and repair facility in Killybegs, more will be available at a later date.

Today we had two sets of local contract workers come aboard to complete some welding jobs and pipe fitting for us. Both companies completed their tasks in a very safe and professional manor.
